Phases are a set of requirements that are assigned to the patient to allow them to build trust with the facility. As patients progress through their MAT treatment phases successfully, they can be given more responsibility by allowing them a greater number of take-home doses. Phases are customizable by Location, click here to learn how to configure phase rules.
Phases Overview
Phases are specifically designed for MAT facilities and are assigned to the patient in the MAT Order. Phases allow you to track the following items for each patient:
- The required number of individual therapy sessions per specified timeframe.
- The required number of group therapy sessions per specified timeframe.
- The required number of drug screens completed per specified timeframe.
- The number of expected consecutive normal drug screens completed per specified timeframe with favorable results.
- The number of take-home doses the patient is eligible for per phase.
- The minimum number of days the patient must be in a phase in order to advance to the next phase of care.
- The maximum number of days the patient is expected to remain in a phase.
Phase requirements can be customized for an individual patient once assigned (aside from Take Out Doses).
Patient Phases
Required Permissions: Therapists, case managers, and clinical directors can review phases, while medically licensed staff, super admins, and records admins can assign phases to the patient.
Users can review the patient’s Phases tab to evaluate if they have met the requirements to progress to the next phase of MAT treatment. The system displays both the patient's current phase and past phases, and the requirements for each phase are based on criteria determined by facility protocols and state requirements.
Access phases directly from the Phases tab on the patient chart. If you haven't configured the phases tab, click here for instructions.
