Users who are not Administrators of their computer may encounter an issue that requires the Dymo Connect Web Service to be run as an administrator to print labels correctly from the Kipu EMR. To resolve this issue, please create a DYMO Root CA SSL Certificate private key for each user.
If you followed all of these steps and the issue still continues, please review this DYMO Help article for additional support.
Complete the following steps:
-
Open the Management Console (mmc.exe) from your computer, type on the search bar mmc, and click Run as Administrator.
- If you are in a non-admin account, you will be prompted for the username and password of the computer administrator.
-
Click Yes to allow the app to make changes to your device.
-
Click on the File tab located in the Console Root window.
-
Select the Add/Remove Snap-In option from the drop-down list.
-
Select the Certificates option and click Add.
-
Select the Computer Account option and then click Next.
-
Select Local Computer (the computer this console is running on) option and then click Finish.
-
Click Ok to close this window.
-
In the Console Root window, click Certificates > Personal > Certificates. Select the certificate issued by DYMO Root CA (for localhost).
-
Right-click on the certificate and select All Tasks > Manage Private Keys.
-
Add the new user or group of users to the Security. This should be the users or groups that will use the Dymo Label Printer to print labels from the Kipu EMR.
-
Type the username in the box and click Check Names. This will create a Private key for the user entered.
-
After adding, confirm that they have Full Control and Read permissions.
-
Select Apply changes.
-
Click on Yes to save the Console settings. Selected users will now be able to access the certificate and utilize the web services to run the label printer successfully.
