An encounter is defined as a distinct event where care is provided to a patient. Encounters are part of an Episode of Care and include related documentation as evidence.
Kipu Encounters tracks the patient’s journey, from admission to discharge, unifying all documentation. The new patient header remains visible on every page of the patient’s chart, even when switching tabs or scrolling through long pages.
The feature can also automatically generate multiple encounters and provides an episode of care summary with a timeline from patient creation, admission, level of care, or program changes, until discharge.
Benefits of Encounters for Your Facility
- Improved UI for Patient Creation: The redesigned interface enhances the user experience and provides easy access to relevant patient data from any page in the chart.
- Streamlined Patient Creation Process: The integrated patient search helps prevent errors, such as multiple unlinked charts, and ensures complete patient treatment information access.
- Expanded Patient Header: The modern header includes most facesheet data in an expanded view.
- Track the Patient’s Journey: Users can monitor the patient’s entire treatment journey from admission through discharge, including levels of care, programs, and location changes, all in one episode of care.
- Timeline View: The Care Management tool provides a visual timeline of the patient’s Episode of Care.
- Record Key Clinical Events: Allows you to quickly access and add patient information from anywhere in the chart, including adding documents, checking scheduler appointments, and finding specific documents based on level of care, program, and locations.
