Kipu EMR allows users to record doses that were manually dispensed during a power outage, internet loss, or another event when the EMR or pumps were not functional.

Record Manual Doses
Record doses dispensed to multiple patients from the Facility Inventory.
- To begin, click on the Inventory tab and check out the medication bottle from which the doses were dispensed.
- Click on the name of the medication.
- Next, select the Manual Dispense button.
- In the new window, you can review the current medication and manual dispense information.
- In the Current Medication section, the user can review the selected medication and confirm the medication name, manufacture, serial number, lot number and quantity remaining in the bottle.
- Using the Manual Dispense section, you can manually dispense the medication to patients. A list of doses will populate automatically based on current and active MAT orders for that specific date and medication.

- Click on the Dispense Date field and select today’s date on the calendar.
- Note: The system only allows for same-day manual dispensing.
- Select the doses/patients that were manually dispensed from this bottle.
- By clicking on the checkbox next to Patient ID, the system will automatically select all checkboxes.
- As you select doses, the system will automatically add the total amount dispensed on the upper right corner.
- Once you select and confirm the patients dispensed, click on the Sign and Submit button.
- Sign in the box to confirm the selected doses have already been dispensed and click Submit.
- Once you are done, the system will display a green message showing that dispensed transactions were completed successfully.
Workflow for Patients that Requires Window and Take Out Doses to be Dispensed
- If a specific patient requires both window and take-out doses, type the name of the patient in the Patient field.
- Select the patient's name from the drop-down menu.
- The system will display all the patient’s doses. By clicking on the first checkbox next to Amount, the system will automatically select the remaining doses, including window and takeout dosages.
- Select the doses dispensed to the patient.
- Once you have confirmed the selected dispensed doses, click on the Sign and Submit button.
- Sign and then click Submit to confirm that the selected doses have already been dispensed.
- Once you are done, the system will display a green message showing that dispensed transactions were completed successfully.
