Issue
How can I mark an insurance as inactive when the Location Billing Type is set to Kipu RCM?
Environment
Kipu EMR, Kipu RCM, Patient Facesheet: Insurance (RCM)
Resolution
In Avea, the insurance status field does not exist. Therefore, the only way for the Inactive status to apply to the EMR facesheet insurance is through the auto-inactive logic in the EMR where the system will automatically set the status to Inactive if the date is in the past.
For example:
- Today is 10/20/2024.
- The user added a termination date of 10/19/2024 or older
- The status will now say Inactive.
- Note: The timestamp will display the KIS API user if the user making the change is logged into the EMR with a profile whose email does not match the email in their Kipu RCM user profile.
