This article contains instructions for installing drivers for compatible signature pads so that they can be used with your Kipu EMR instance.
EMR Settings
As the first step, ensure that the Instance Settings (or Location Settings if you have a master instance) has the proper driver selected for the Signature Pad.
Single Instance
Navigate to Settings > Instance, then select the appropriate driver from the Hardware Options drop-down. Click here for instructions.
Master Instance
If you need to use a different driver type than the default configured in your Instance settings, navigate to Settings > Company. Then click the edit icon for the location where you are setting up the driver and select the appropriate driver from the Hardware Options drop-down. Click here for instructions.
Scriptel EasyScript
Scriptel EasyScript pads work with both Windows PC and Mac OS computers.
For Windows PC:
- Plug in your signature pad. Open a new consent form and confirm you can sign using the pad.
For Mac OS:
- Plug in your signature pad. If prompted, cancel the keyboard identification process.
- Test in a new consent form to see if you can sign with the signature pad.
Important: The Save/OK button on Scriptel pad does not automatically save the signature in Kipu. Once you have added your signature with the pad, click Submit in the EMR signature window.
Scriptel OmniScript
Scriptel OnmiScript works together with Scriptel Proscript signature pads on Windows-based computers.
- Navigate to Scriptel Downloads page.
- Scroll down to the ScripTouch OmniScript section, and click the Download Now button.
- Run the installer and follow the installation wizard prompts.
- Once the installation is completed, plug in the signature pad and test it in a new consent form.
Topaz SigWeb
Topaz SigWeb driver works in Chrome and Firefox on Windows-based computers only.
Do not plug your signature pad yet.
- Navigate to the Topaz SigWeb page and download the SigWeb Installer.
- Run the installation wizard and follow on-screen prompts.
- Once completed, restart (close and re-open) your browser.
- Plug in the Topaz signature pad and test in a new consent form to see if you can sign with it.
If your Topaz signature pad does not work in Chrome after you have completed the installation, check "Topaz® Signature Pad Troubleshooting Guide (Chrome)" article for further instructions.
