Kipu Payments: Initiating a Refund

This feature is currently in limited release to a select group of clients and will be rolling out to everyone in the coming months.

If you need to initiate a refund in Kipu Payments, check out these instructions. If you have issues completing the steps outlined in this article, please contact Kipu Support. If you have issues with the refund itself, please reach out to Stripe directly.

Required Permissions: Super Admins

  1. To begin, click on your initials and then click Settings
  2. Then click the Billing Audit Tool tab.
  1. Next, select Patient Payments. If needed, select the correct location, and then navigate to the Payment List tab.
  2. Click on the payment in question.
  3. Then click Begin Refund
  4. Enter the refund amount. You can refund the complete amount (entered by default) or enter a partial amount. 
  5. Then select the reason for the refund.
  6. You can add more details in the text box, as needed. Then click Refund to submit.
  7. If a refund is completed successfully, you'll see this message. Click Close or the x to return to the tab. 
  8. The refund will reflect in the Payment Details section and the Timeline.
