There are patient flags specifically designed for MAT facilities, including stop dose, no-show, and random drug screen flags. Patient flags are used to record and share information about the patient and cause specific actions within the system like the automatic assignment of a flag based on specific system criteria, selecting a patient for random drug testing, and/or preventing the patient from being dosed. Click here to see how these flags work on the patient chart. Many of the flag settings described below can be used in conjunction to produce the desired system result.
Kiosk Flags: If your organization is using Kiosk, there are additional flags available. Click here to learn more.
Call Backs Flags: If your organization is using Call Backs, there are system-generated flags available. Click here to learn more.
Required Permissions: Super Admins can configure flags.
All workflows begin from the Flags tab.
- To begin, click on your initials and then click Settings.
- Then click the Flags tab.
Stop Dose Flags
The Stop Dose Flag will prevent the patient from being dosed when added to the chart. Any flag can have the Stop Dose feature added to its settings. When Stop Dose is selected in the flag’s settings, the dispensing nurse will be unable to dispense the medication to the patient until the flag has been resolved or canceled in the patient’s chart.
You can have as many Stop Dose flags as needed to follow your facility protocols. A common use for a Stop Dose flag after a tuberculosis screening is to prevent the patient from being dosed until their TB screen results are available within 48-72 hours.

No Show Flag
The MAT No Show flag is a system-generated flag that is automatically assigned to the patient chart after specific criteria are met, e.g., missing a set number of dosing days. For example, a flag can be set up to notify nursing staff when a patient has missed 3 consecutive days of dosing. The system allows you to set up your desired number of days depending on your facility protocols and state requirements.
