Add Patient Ledger (Billing tab) to Patient Chart

Before Patient Ledger can be accessed from the patient chart, please enable the Billing tab. 

Note: This is the same tab that is used for the Billing Report for clients integrated with CMD or the RCM.

To create the Billing tab, Super Admins can follow the steps below.

  1. To begin, click on your initials and then click Settings
  2. Then click the Patients tab. This tab is the default settings tab, and because the name can be customized, it may have a different name in your instance.
  1. Scroll to the Processes, Medication, Treatment Plans, Diagnoses.
  2. From the Patient Processes section, confirm there is not an existing tab with the Show Billing checkbox enabled. If there is, you don't need to complete the following steps, it's already set up!blobid1.png
  3. To add the Billing tab, click on the Add Item text at the end of the Patient Processes list.blobid2.png
  4. Type in your preferred name for this tab. Commonly used names include Billing or Patient Ledger.blobid3.png
  5. Select the Show Billing and Show Tab checkboxes.blobid4.png
  6. Choose the Locations that can access the Billing tab.

  7. Click Update at the end of the Patient Processes section.blobid6.png
  8. Drag and Drop: Use the Drag icon to move the tab into the desired position within the patient chart tabs.blobid7.png
  9. Confirm that the Billing tab has been successfully created by opening a patient chart.blobid8.png
