Any role with a flask next to it will have access to the Lab Interface.
Let's review the Lab-related roles and what these roles allow users to do in the lab interface.
Internal Roles
Doctor: A user with the Doctor role can sign off on their orders and results. Also, if the physician has their NPI on file with the lab, they will be able to place orders on the patient’s chart. If ordering is not available for your physician, please contact the lab to add an additional doctor to your interface. (If the physician has been changed, please advise the lab of these changes, in which case they will notify us to grant ordering to the new physician.) The Doctor role will also have access to view orders, discontinue orders, view requisitions, view results, and assign and unassign results.
Nurse: Any user with the role of Nurse will be able to place an order for testing on the patient as requested by the physician. They will also have access to view orders, discontinue orders, view requisitions, view results, and assign and unassign results.
Records Admin: The Records Admin role has the same access to Lab Interface as the Super Admin, but cannot view Settings and Users.
Super Admin: The Super Admin role has the ability to see all patient PHI and should only be given to those who will be managing Kipu for the facility.
Kipu Labs Roles
LabReportOperator: This role can be used as an additional role for any user who needs access to the reports portion of the lab interface. The Lab Report Operator will have access to view reports, view attached PDF reports, assign unmatched reports, and unassign any matched results.
LabRequisitionOperator: This role can be used as an additional role for any user who needs access to the requisition portion of the lab interface. The Lab Requisition Operator will have access to create requisitions, view requisitions, edit requisitions that have not been processed, and delete any unprocessed requisitions.
Restrict Unreviewed Lab Reports: This role is meant to be assigned together with other roles and prevents users from accessing lab reports until they are reviewed and signed by a provider.
*You'll see a Lab Laison role in this menu as well, however, do not assign this role to any of your staff. This is an external role and is designed to be assigned to users at the Lab partner. Assigning this role limits the user's ability to complete actions in Kipu like creating new lab orders.
