Users: External Roles

  • Updated

External Roles are intended for external providers or other users that are not part of your organization but still need access to the EMR. External roles limit access to only the information needed to perform the specified tasks. External users should not be assigned a function, this ensures they cannot open or edit documentation.

The available external roles are listed below and described further in the following table.

  • Auditor: The Auditor role is intended for your accrediting agency’s inspector/surveyor and only allows access to patient charts.
  • Display: The Display role is to be used for accounts intended to be used on a television or large screen for the purpose of providing information to facility users or visitors (like the Bed Board Display or Queue Display).
  • Kiosk: This is a display role that allows MAT patients to check into the facility upon arrival via tablet or another device.
  • Pharmacist: The Pharmacist role is intended for your pharmacy vendor, allowing pharmacists to log into the EMR to review new orders, discontinued orders, newly admitted patients, and discharging patients.
  • Utilization Review External: The UR External role is used to allow authorized representatives from insurance providers to review key patient chart information related to the insurance case(s). Click here to learn more about setting up the system for UR External users.
  • Lab Liaison: The Lab Liaison role is intended for external lab representative(s) to review requisitions, results, and orders related to the integration with the lab they represent.
