Manage Your Notifications

  • Updated

The Kipu EMR can be configured to deliver automatic notifications based on a variety of in-app events. Common notifications include Medication Order Change, New Patient Admitted, and Vital Signs Abnormal. Notifications are location and audience-specific, so depending on your user role and location, the notifications you receive can be different than other EMR users.

Important: Notifications, whether read or unread, are retained for 15 days

Notification Alerts

You'll be alerted to new notifications through the Badge icon in the header. Each notification can also be configured for delivery by Toast or Email. All notifications can be viewed in your Notification inbox. If you have multiple locations, you can view your notifications from all locations by selecting My Locations from the drop-down in the header (otherwise you will see just the notifications for the selected location).

Notification Types

There are three types of notifications, each with its own color: Critical (Red), Warning (Orange), and Notification (Blue).

Note: If you have access to multiple locations, selecting My Locations from the location drop-down in the header from your notifications inbox will show your notifications from all locations.

Toast

Toasts are a temporary popup notification that appears in the top-right corner of your screen. Notifications do not have to be configured with a toast notification, so you may not receive a toast for every notification received.

Email

Notifications can also be configured to be sent to your email. Notifications do not have to be configured with an email notification, so you may not receive an email for every notification received. Notifications are sent from notifications@kipusystems.com and contain event details, including patient name (if applicable), customized message, and reference link to access the chart, form, group, etc. related to the notification.
