The Occupancy feature is designed to help your facility track and manage your patient population. From the Occupancy tab, users can view the current patient assignment, available beds in each building, unassigned patients, and assign/unassign beds.
Click here to learn how to configure Occupany for your instance and identify which user roles can access and manage occupancy.
Patient Occupancy Overview
On the Occupancy tab, you will see tabs for each Building you have available in the instance (or under the selected location, if you are in a master instance). Assigned patients in the current building will show up under Today's date. You cannot switch the date, occupancy is always shown in real-time.
On the left side of each Building tab, you can view the Available Beds (unoccupied). You can also view admitted patients that are not yet assigned to a bed.
The Patients table is sorted by rooms and beds (rooms are separated by a bold line), and contains the following information:
- Status: Urgent issues, patient flags, allergies, diets, and unreviewed lab results. Click here for a full breakdown of the icons and their meaning.
- Bed: The bed currently assigned to the patient.
- Patient: Photo, gender/gender identity icon, first name, last initial, MR number, level of care (clinical and/or UR), and patient status.
- Admission: Patient's admission date and time.
- Anticipated Discharge: Patient's anticipated discharge date (if added to the facesheet).
- Discharge: Patient's discharge date and time.
- P: Patient's payment method (an abbreviation of the first letter or letters of the payment method).
- Referrer/Discharge to: Shortcode for patient's Referrer and/or Discharged To (populated from Contacts).

You can also display your Occupancy as a Bed Board throughout your premises or authorized locations.
