Occupancy: Setup and User Roles

The Occupancy feature is designed to help your facility track and manage your patient population. Complete the following steps to use Occupancy at your organization. 

Occupancy Instance Setting

Super Admins can enable the Occupancy feature from the Instance Settings under System options. Search for Use Occupancy, check the box, and click Update

Rooms Tab Settings

Super Admins or users with the Manage Rooms feature need to create buildings, rooms, and beds, and assign them to locations (if you have multiple). Click here for instructions.

User Roles and Features

Internal Roles

  • Admin: View and manage bed assignment
  • Biller: No access to Occupancy
  • Case Manager: View bed assignment
  • Chart Auditor: No access to Occupancy
  • Doctor: View bed assignment
  • Nurse: View and manage bed assignment
  • Other Therapist: View and manage bed assignment
  • Patient Coordinator: No access to Occupancy
  • Provider: No access to Occupancy
  • Records Admin: View and manage bed assignment
  • Super Admin: View and manage bed assignment
  • Tech: View and manage bed assignment
  • Therapist: View and manage bed assignment
  • Utilization Review Internal: View and manage bed assignment

Features

Super Admins and users with the Manage Rooms feature are the only users who can create/edit Buildings, Rooms, and Beds under the Rooms tab.
