Supported Label Size

  • 1 1/8” x 3 1/2” (DYMO 30251)

Set Up and Install

Before plugging in and setting up the printer, you must first determine the model of your printer and your computer's operating system.

  • To locate the compatible drivers, please open your computer’s browser and navigate to https://www.dymo.com/compatibility-chart.html.
  • After locating the correct driver, click on the link in the compatibility chart to download.
    1. Note: If you are using a MacOS, we recommend downloading Dymo Connect version 1.4.6, as 1.5.1 is not currently working on Macs.
  • Open the downloaded driver file and begin the installation by following the instructions on the screen.
  • After the installation is complete, please restart the computer.
  • Once the computer has restarted, plug the power adaptor for the printer into the wall outlet and turn on the printer.
  • Next, plug the USB cable into the printer and then into the computer. Please make sure you are connecting the USB directly into the PC tower or laptop and not an external monitor or hub. The computer should alert you that a new device has been connected.
  • Finally, you will need to Diagnose the new driver and printer to confirm that it is communicating correctly with the computer’s browser.
    • PC [Windows]: Navigate to the bottom right section of the taskbar and locate the Dymo icon. Next, click the icon and select Diagnose...

  • If you received an error message, please uninstall all Dymo Drivers and restart the installation from the beginning or contact DYMO.
    • If you are using a Mac, and you get the SSL certification error (net_http_ssl_connection_failed), check to see if you are using Dymo Connect driver 1.5.1, and if so, uninstall it and download 1.4.6.
  • Your installation is now complete, and you are ready to print labels from Kipu EMR.

Labs labels include the following information:

  • First and Last name
  • Date of Birth
  • MR Number
  • Collection date and time
  • Location name/Location alias
  • Lab Account

If your facility or lab would like to have specimen source codes (UR) and test code details included on the label, you can contact labsupport@kipuhealth.com

Note: Due to space constraints, we include test codes only for requisitions with up to 5 tests. Always check the electronic order or printed requisition for the complete list of ordered tests.
