Date of Death

You can document the date and cause of death on the patient facesheet when enabled in the Instance Settings.

Enable in Instance Settings

  1. To begin, click on your initials and then click Settings. 
  2. Then click the Instance tab.
  1. Check the box for Use Date of Death?

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Submit to save.

Adding Date of Death to Facesheet

To add the Date of Death, navigate to the patient’s information tab. 

  1. Click Edit Patient.mceclip3.png
  2. Scroll to the Add Date of Death field next to the Sobriety Date.mceclip2.png
  3. Click into the field and select the date from the calendar.

  4. A Cause of Death field appears once the date is selected. This field is free-text and can be used to document any additional information.

  5. Both fields are reportable in the Kipu Reports module and can be transferred between the Kipu EMR and CRM.
