Why is the incorrect place of service populating on the claim when transmitted from the Kipu EMR to CMD?

  • Updated

Issue

When the claim is transmitted from the Kipu EMR to CollaborateMD, the place of service does not follow the default place of service set up within the Payer Defaults section within the Payers tab of Customer Setup.

Environment

CollaborateMD

Resolution

When the place of service is transmitted from the Kipu EMR to CMD, the claim pulls the place of service that was already on the claim when transmitted from the Kipu EMR Billing Report and will not pull any defaults from the Billing Options defaults set up within CMD.

Example of how it will appear on the billing report when you edit the claim before transmission:

In the event no place of service populates on the Kipu EMR Billing Report and is then transmitted to CMD, the system will use the default from the Billing Options tab in the Payer section.

To default the place of service automatically before transmitting the claim from the Kipu EMR Billing Report, you will need to follow the Payor Rules: Replace Place of Service to set up this payor rule.
