How Do I Map Admission Type and Patient Status from Kipu to CollaborateMD?

Issue

Is it possible to send Admission Type and Patient Status from Kipu to CollaborateMD? If so, where can I set this up in Kipu?

Resolution

Currently, Admission Type and Patient Status are not automatically sent from Kipu to CollaborateMD. However, you have two options to make sure these fields are included on institutional claims:

Option 1: Set Default Values at the Practice Level in CMD

You can set default values that will apply to all future claims submitted from Kipu.

1. Go to Customer Setup > Practices.
   

2. Find and select the practice you want.

3. On the right side, click Options > Claim.
   

4. Under Institutional Defaults, choose the right values for Admission Type and Patient Status from the drop-down menus.
   

5. Click Save.
   

These defaults will be applied to all new claims coming from Kipu.

Option 2: Manually Set Values on Individual Claims

If you prefer to set these values for each claim individually, you can do so by following these steps:

1. Open the specific Claim.
   

2. Click on Additional Info.
   

3. Under Claim Information, select the appropriate Admission Type and Patient Status from the drop-down menus.
   

4. Click Save.
   

Either option will help ensure the claim has the correct information before you submit it.
