Issue
I need to update the payer ID and/or the clearinghouse ID for a payer to bill the claims with the correct payer ID. How can I change the payer ID for a payer?

CollaborateMD, Roles: Users, Admin, Features: Payers, Customer Setup
Resolution
Before changing an established payer ID, we recommend confirming the following details:
- Is this payer ID being used by other patient plans? If so, consider creating a new payer for this new Payer ID. If every patient on this plan is experiencing this issue, it is okay to change the Payer ID on the established payer.
- Have you confirmed this payer ID with the payer directly? If the payer has confirmed that this is the correct payer ID to use when billing claims, proceed with updating the payer ID.
Once you've determined the appropriate next step, follow the below steps to update/modify the payer ID used to bill claims. You can also review these steps on CMD's Help Center Manage Clearinghouse Connections.
- Go to Customer Setup on the left-hand side of CollaborateMD.
- Go to the Payers tab.
- Select the payer you would like to update.
- On the right-hand side of the screen, select the magnifying glass next to Clearinghouse Connection.
- Note: You will see on the Payers list both Payer ID and Clearinghouse ID. The Payer ID is the payer's main payer ID whereas the Clearinghouse ID is the payer's connection to the clearinghouse for claims, remittance, and eligibility to process through eProvider Solutions.
- You can search by the name, but it is highly recommended to search by the exact Payer ID and then select Search.
- Once you click on the payer and payer ID combination you would like to update the payer to, it will automatically update.
