Collecting Patient Signatures (Lock Screen)

  • Updated

The EMR screen lock feature is available on consent forms and evaluations to safeguard personal health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA standards. This feature ensures that patients cannot access other areas of the EMR while reviewing and signing documents. Additionally, it streamlines the review process by automatically moving to the next document when a form or evaluation is completed.

  3. Once locked, the user is unable to navigate to any other part of the system from that device, protecting PHI and preventing the patient from accessing other areas of the EMR. This means that you can safely give the patient access to your device to collect their signature.

When the patient is done signing, you can unlock the screen to return to your standard workflow.
