Golden Thread Overview

Golden Thread allows you to tie together patient problems, treatment plans, evaluations, and group sessions, leading to a more comprehensive view of patient care. 

Golden Thread Setup

• Golden Thread Settings: Golden Thread is pre-loaded Wiley® Treatment Plan components and allows you to create your own custom content. Any user with the Super Admin role or the Manage Golden Thread feature can manage all the content in Settings > Golden Thread. Click here for instructions.
• Evaluation Fields: To use Golden Thread, you will need to incorporate designated Evaluation field types in your templates: problem_list, progress_note, golden_thread_tag, and treatment_plan_problem. Click here for instructions. 

Working with Golden Thread

Let's review the process for Golden Thread documentation on the patient chart. 

1. Identifying Problems: The first step for using the Golden Thread is to create the patient's problem list. Click here for instructions. 
2. Creating Treatment Plans: Next, create a Golden Thread Treatment Plan for each of the patient's problems that you plan on addressing during treatment. This includes Modalities, Goals, Objectives, and Interventions. Click here for instructions. 
3. Adding Progress Notes: Add documentation on the patient's treatment and tie the progress note to the patient's established problems, treatment plans, goals, and/or objectives covered during the session. You can also use pre-set progress note components, such as sentences or phrases. Click here for instructions. 
4. Adding Group Sessions: Associate Group Session notes with the patient's established problems, treatment plans, goals, and/or objectives covered during the session. Click here for instructions. 
5. Tying in additional Documentation: You can include the golden_thread_tag field in any documentation allowing that evaluation to be included in the Golden Thread.

Wiley® Treatment Plan

The Golden Thread feature is pre-loaded with Wiley® Treatment Plan components, including a list of problems common in patients that suffer from addiction, related diagnoses, corresponding behavioral definitions, and related goals, objectives, and interventions, plus a selection of suggested progress notes related to these areas.
