Autocomplete Service: Medication Database

  • Updated

The Kipu Medication autocomplete service provides convenient access to a database of medications pulled directly from the FDA. These are helpful for quickly adding medications from the Doctor's Orders tab.

Important: Do not enable the medication database if you use the ePrescribe (eRx) functionality in any of your locations. ePrescribe uses a separate database of medications, and enabling the Medication Database in the EMR will cause conflicts.

Using Medication Autocomplete Services

From any of the Medication forms, start typing in the medication's name, and Kipu will offer a list for auto-completion. The Route, Dosage Form, and Dose Options drop-downs will contain appropriate options based upon the medication selected, as commercially available.
