The start-of-day procedure must be completed before any non-liquid medication can be dispensed. The system provides extensive filter flexibility to open the desired medication.

Filtering the Medication
Follow the steps below to locate the medication bottle and verify each bottle required for the day.

Click on the Inventory tab in the header.

Use the Medication field to search for the medication bottle you want to administer.
- Use the Advanced Search fields to search by strength, serial number, or lot number.

Once you have entered the desired fields, click on Search. Use Clear all filters to start a new search.

If needed, use the remaining filters to further refine your results.
Status Filter Options
Use the Status filter to further refine your results.
- Empty: No medication remains in the bottle.
- Non Empty: The bottle still has remaining medication available for dispensing.
- Expired: The medication is past its expiration date and cannot be dispensed.
- Not Expired: The medication is still within its valid date range and can be dispensed.
- In Use: The bottle is opened and assigned for dispensing.
- Checked Out: The bottle is temporarily removed from Inventory for counts or adjustments.
- Not In Use: The bottle is not currently opened or assigned for dispensing. It remains in Inventory and can be placed into use when needed.

Replenish: The bottle is running low and should be restocked soon to avoid interruptions in dispensing.
Use From Date and To Date Fields
Use the From Date and To Date fields to filter bottles by date range if needed.
Opening the Medication
Once you've located the medication, you'll need to open it.
- In the far-right column, select the In Use checkbox next to the medication you want to dispense.
- In the Change Bottle window, review the Remaining Quantity field to verify the count before dispensing.
- Add notes if needed, then click Sign and Submit.
- Sign your name in the Signature box and click Submit.

A green confirmation message appears showing that the bottle has been opened and displays the serial and lot numbers.
- All opened medications appear in green and show the initials of the user who opened the bottle in the In Use column.
Important: Repeat these steps for each MAT medication you plan to dispense for the day.
