Review Signature Satisfied Evaluation Setting

  • Updated

The Review Signature Satisfied evaluation setting streamlines the signature process for users who normally have to sign an evaluation twice, as both the staff member and as the reviewer. When the Review Signature Satisfied box is checked on the template, the system will run a check when the evaluation reaches the status of Ready for Review. If a signature applied under the staff signatures has the same signature function required for the review signature, the document will skip collecting the review signature and go directly to Completed.

This feature can be used for standard evaluations and treatment plans. It also works with Added Signers. However, this option cannot be paired with Force Signatures setting. Additionally, logic added to the template only allows the Review Signature Satisifed feature to be selected when the same signature requirement shows under both staff and review.

Important: This workflow should only be applied to evaluations where the same individual is currently signing twice, but the review signature is not needed as part of facility standards or for compliance reasons. If the document requires a signature no matter what, this setting should not be used on the template. If you are unsure about using this workflow, please call Kipu Client Services to discuss your signature requirements before making any changes.

Patient Chart Behavior

There is some new behavior when a template with Review Signature Satisfied is added to the patient chart. When you’re on a patient’s chart with this feature enabled, you will see an information icon. When you hover over it, it will show that Review Signature Satisfied has been selected on the template. Also, when the evaluation goes to Completed, the badge under the Review column in the list view will turn grey to indicate that the signature was not required and therefore not collected.

Example Scenario

Here is a side-by-side comparison of the previous signature behavior and the new Review Signature Satisfied option. A template is set up with the following signature requirements: Therapist (PT) or Clinical Director (CD) as staff. Clinical Director (CD) as set up as a review signature.
