Treatment Episodes provide organization in the patient chart, representing the period a patient stays in the same location, level of care, and program. The system automatically creates Treatment Episodes when patients are admitted, transitioned, or transferred and associates all documentation, including forms, orders, and labs, with the active treatment episode upon creation.
Benefits of Treatment Episodes for Your Facility
Location Transfers: Patient charts transfer across locations without requiring a new chart or admission. When transferred, charts retain all documentation from previous locations. Users can also add charts to multiple locations simultaneously using the Add Location workflow.
Enhanced Patient Header: The patient header features a clean, modern interface with enhanced functionality. It remains visible while scrolling and expands to display patient details without leaving the current page. If Scheduler is enabled, the header also shows the patient’s next appointment, which users can click to manage scheduler appointments from anywhere in the patient chart.
Optimized Patient Creation Workflow: The patient creation flow searches for existing patients across all locations, ensuring proper linkage when readmitting patients with existing charts.
Track the Patient’s Journey: Users can view an overview of the patient’s entire treatment journey, from admission through discharge, displayed in a clean timeline format, including levels of care, programs, and location changes.
Chart Summary → Treatment Episode: Users can review a chronological list of Treatment Episodes, along with the documentation associated with each treatment episode.
