Facesheet: We have updated the patient contact card for clarity and consistency.
- First and last name are now two fields, and the full address field has been replaced with Street Address 1, Street Address 2, City, State, ZIP Code, and Country fields. This update is being rolled out gradually, and you will see an in-app notification with the date that your instance is scheduled to receive it.
- For your convenience, existing contact details will be automatically parsed into the new fields. If needed, you can always refer back to the Legacy Full Name and Legacy Full Address, which will initially preserve the original values entered. For audit purposes, we have a complete list of all updated contacts under Settings > Data Export > Patient Contact Export.
- Previously, these fields were controlled by the Use Patient Contact Details setting at the instance or location level. This setting will no longer be available, as the new format is now standardized across all clients.
- Finally, there is now a Lab Testing section at the bottom of the Facesheet. Its use is optional for most clinics, so please discuss with your lab partner if they wish to receive this information.
-
Labs: We’ve made it easier for organizations that use more than one lab account. You can now order tests from different accounts directly in Kipu. What this means for you:
- If your facility has only one lab account, nothing changes, but you’ll see a new Lab Account column on the Due Today list when creating a requisition.
- If your facility has multiple lab accounts:
- You’ll choose which account to use when creating a lab order.
- Super Admins can set or update the default account for each location in Settings > Kipu Labs > Default Lab Account. Interfaces with a single account will have the default account grayed out. This means all orders will always go to that account. Interfaces with multiple accounts will allow selection of a default account.
- You’ll choose which account to use when creating a lab order.
-
Note Assistant: We have updated the response from “N/A” to “No applicable content in transcript” and lightened the text to indicate that no content was generated for the question. For more information on Note Assistant, check out this article.
-
Order Templates: Removed the default 1 in the Quantity field to reduce steps when creating templates. For more information, check out the article on order templates.

- Billing: Made several stability improvements for transmitting items from the BAT to resolve the issue that led to billed items erroring out with the following two error messages: “Unable to locate rendering provider” and “Error: Error”.
- Forms: The Preview option for forms in Settings > Instance is now visible for Super Admins to disable or enable.
- Labs: We shifted the barcode on the Dymo labels to the left and made it more compact, so it’s easier to scan and fits better on specimen containers.
- Labs: Fixed an issue where, if present, the Ordering Provider column on the Requisitions Due Today list showed N/A for all patients.
- Ledger: Added better error handling when a void attempt occurs on the patient ledger. Instead of failing and locking the user out, the system will allow the user to try another void attempt.
