Settings: Substances Tab

The Kipu EMR allows you to record and report on the patient's primary, secondary, and tertiary Drug of Choice using an evaluation form with the patient.drug_of_choice field. This list of drugs is prebuilt and categorized by DSM classification.  Click here to learn more.  

Required Permissions
Super Admins can customize or create their own list of relevant substances under Settings > Substances.  

Customize the Substances List 

Let’s review how to customize your instance’s Substance List.  

Important
Once modified there is no way to return the substances list back to it’s default configuration. 

1. Click on your initials and choose Settings.  
   
2. Open the Substances tab. This tab contains a default list of substances with their assigned Drug Class. 
   
3. Drug Classes are hard-coded. For each substance, you need to select one of the available categories: Alcohol, Caffeine, Cannabis, Hallucinogens, Inhalants, Opiates/Opioids, Sedatives, Hypnotics and Anxiolytics, Stimulants, Tobacco & Other Nicotine, Other or Unknown Substance. 
   
   
4. Edit: You can update the name or drug class for all substance rows.
5. Delete: Use the X to remove a substance. 
6. New: Add additional substances using the Add Substance button. For each substance, you need to select an appropriate class.
7. Once done with your modifications, click Update to save all changes.
