How Do I Resend a Patient Portal Invite?

Issue

After the initial portal invitation is sent, the button to Invite to Portal no longer appears on the patient facesheet. However, I need to resend the invitation as the patient did not get it. 

Environment

Kipu EMR, Facesheet/Information page, Users that access the facesheet can send the invite, User Role: Super Admin, User Feature: Manage users

Resolution

Any user with access to edit the patient's information tab can select the Invite to Portal/Kipu Portal button.

To resend the invitation, follow these steps:

  1. From the patient's Information tab, click the purple KIPU PORTAL button in the top left corner.
  2. Once in the Portal account details select the paper airplane icon to the right of the Status: Pending.
  3. A notice will appear at the top of the page stating the invite was successfully resent to their email.

For Super Admins and Users with the feature Manage Users, you can also resend the portal invites through the Manage Users settings page.

  1. Select your initials in the top right corner and the Manage Users option.
     
  2. Select the Portal Accounts tab.
  3. Locate your patient by searching with their name, or using the filters present. Once located select their Name and it will bring you to their Portal Account Details.
  4. Once in the Portal Account Details select the paper airplane icon to the right of the Status: Pending.
  5. A notice will appear at the top of the page stating the invite was successfully re-sent to their email.

If the user still doesn't see the email, try the following:

  • Make sure the email is not in the user’s deleted folder, spam folder, or some alternative folder.
  • Make sure the portal user does not have a Kipu email address or domain blocked.
  • Make sure the portal account has the correct email address.
