Financial Reports

Financial Reports provide information about billable items and authorizations. Note: Billable items are Evaluations and Group Sessions marked as billable (click here to learn more) and Lab Requisitions. 

Within the Financial category, there are two available templates.

Creating a Financial Report

Super Admins, Records Admins, and users with Manage Reports feature can build the following reports:

  1. Open the Reports tab and click New Report.mceclip0__3_.png
  2. Select Financial for the report type.

  3. Enter your reporting parameters. mceclip1.png
    1. Report Name
    2. Template: Use the drop-down to select: 
      • Billable
      • Insurance Authorizations
    3. Sort Direction: Select Ascending or Descending for the report order.
    4. Date Range: Select a date range for this report. Start Date/End Date is only available when a Custom date range is selected.
      • Note: The Current Census range pulls data patients currently on your census.
    5. Criteria: Use this drop-down to determine which patients are included in the report based on the date range selected. 
      • Billable Items: Pulls billable items created in the selected date range. 
      • Admission Date: Pulls billable items from charts admitted in the specified date range.
      • Discharge Date: Pulls billable items from charts discharged in the specified date range.
      • Billable & Completed Items: Pulls billable items whose date of service (entered in the Evaluation Date or Evaluation Date & Time field), or Completed date is from the selected date range.
    6. Selection: Choose to include Patients with MR (admitted), Patients without MR (not admitted), or All Patients.
    7. Determine who can edit the report using the Editable by radio buttons.
      • All: The report can be edited by any user who has access to it.
      • Owner: The report can be edited by the report's creator or a Super Admin that has a direct URL to the report.
    8. Identify who can view the report using the Viewable by radio buttons.
      • All: The report is available under Public Reports for all users who have access to Reports.
      • Owner: The report is available under Private Reports for the current user, or by using the direct URL.
  4. Click Continue to select additional reporting fields (optional).
  5. Use the Data Fields Selection to include additional fields you'd like to see on the report. Remember, the fields listed in the table above will appear by default. If you want to add additional dimensions e.g., Insurance Company name, this is where you can select those fields.mceclip2.png
  6. Important: The first data field selected will be used to group the data (e.g., choose MR first group by patient MR number)mceclip3.png
  7. Click Run Report to view your results. mceclip4.png
  8. From here, you can edit or export the report for further manipulation.
