How do I change the order of questions in a form without rebuilding it?

  • Updated

Issue

I have questions near the bottom of a large form that I need to move up in the form but don't want to rebuild the whole form.

Environment

Kipu EMR, Roles: Super Admin, Features: Manage Templates, Templates: Evaluations

Resolution

A Super Admin or User with the Manage Templates Feature can move around the questions within an evaluation template by following the steps below.

  1. Select the Templates tab in the top toolbar, then the Evaluations tab.
  2. Click the Edit Pencil to the right of the form name.
  3. Across from the Bold Title of your form select the Edit Pencil button. This opens up the field list view.
  4. From this field list, you can easily drag and drop the fields to reorder.
  5. Hover over the gray [drag] option to the left of the item you need to move till a four-way arrow cursor appears, then click and hold the word [drag] and move it.
  6. Release the [drag] to complete the move.
  7. To review the template changes select the Edit Pencil to go back to the template fields.
  8. Tip: This works best when the "name" field of the template has been filled out. If there are a lot of field rows without the name, we recommend copying in the label so that you can accurately position these fields.

Cause

This can happen after a facility is reviewed and is then advised that certain items need to be added or moved around in their current forms.
