If your signature pad stopped working completely (or has never worked), please follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Important: Do not plug your signature pad yet.
Step #1: Confirm Settings & Components
- Ensure the SigWeb Topaz Driver is selected under Hardware Options in your settings.
- Single Instance: Navigate to Settings > Instance > select SigWeb Topaz Driver from the Hardware Options drop-down. Click here for instructions.
-
Master Instance: If you need to use a different driver type than the default configured in your Instance settings, navigate to Settings > Company > edit the Location you are setting up the drivers for > select SigWeb Topaz Driver from the Hardware Options drop-down. Click here for instructions.
- Confirm .NET components are enabled. Search for Turn Windows Features On or Off in your Windows search bar.
-
Expand and enable all .NET Framework 3.5 and .NET Framework 4.
Step #2: Reinstallation
If the steps above did not resolve the issue, let's try reinstalling the driver.- Unplug the signature pad.
- Navigate to Control Panel > Uninstall Programs.
- Uninstall any file named Sigweb/Sigplus or Topaz related.
-
Search and verify there are no files related to Sigweb/Sigplus or Topaz in your hard drive (C:). Delete all related files and folders.
- Navigate to http://www.topazsystems.com/sigweb.html and click Download SigWeb Installer.
- Open your Downloads folder and double-click on sigweb.exe file to run the installation wizard.
- When you are prompted with the message "Do you want this app to make changes to this computer?" click Yes.
- Follow the steps of Topaz installation wizard.
- Select the correct signature pad model from the list on the left, then select HSB/HSX from the port list.
- Click Finish and restart (re-open) your browser.
- Plug in your Topaz signature pad and test in a new consent form to see if you are able to sign with it.
