📈 Data-Driven Decision-Making with New BI Analytics Dashboards
Driving your growth and managing your business should begin with data—allowing you to lead with confidence by making effective data-driven decisions using intuitive business intelligence dashboards introduced earlier this year:
- Intake: This dashboard contains data on authorizations, intake metrics, benefits verification, and UR coordinator.
- Clinical Outcomes: This dashboard focuses on discharges, AMA discharges, and length of stay metrics.
- Clinical Productivity: This dashboard contains metrics on billable and nonbillable activities and consent completion.
- Operations: This dashboard contains current and historical census data, attendance, appointments, and occupancy.
- Executive: This dashboard focuses on admissions, discharges, key trends, and other KPIs.
With these dashboards, you’ll be able to understand year-over-year or month-over-month performance benchmarks in an easy-to-read format. And confidently forecast data into the future and make changes before they become an issue with available forecasting percent probabilities. Take the free course on how to best leverage these dashboards today!
📝 Centralized Charting
Quickly add Consent and Evaluation forms from anywhere in a patient chart using the New Document modal. This functionality centralizes all forms you have access to into one convenient location, allowing you to search for the desired document, create a custom list of favorited forms, and instantly add multiple forms to the patient chart. Learn more about centralized charting.
🚀 Quick Text
You can now create and save formatted text and/or data point templates to their individual profiles for use in any Evaluation text box field. This significantly cuts down on the amount of time it takes a user to complete an evaluation, allowing more time to be spent on patient care or other tasks. Learn more about Quick Text.
📱Patient Portal Enhancements
The Patient Portal is an easy-to-use, web-based, mobile-responsive patient engagement solution. In addition to boosting clinic efficiency, the Kipu Patient Portal increases patient and caregiver engagement, which improves patient outcomes and satisfaction. We’ve made several enhancements to the Portal this year, including the My Appointment function now including group sessions, the ability to launch telehealth sessions from the portal, configurations for sharable documents, an all-new consent revocation workflow, consolidated email notifications to patients, and messaging with the care team or selected users.

🔒 Security
Security is always top of mind. This year, Kipu achieved HITRUST certification, which is a testament to our commitment to top-notch security, ensuring the protection of sensitive healthcare data. HITRUST is a widely recognized security framework for healthcare organizations, and our certification demonstrates that we meet stringent requirements for data safeguarding and privacy. This certification is particularly crucial in the healthcare industry, where patient data confidentiality and integrity are paramount. It provides assurance to clients, partners, and regulators that we have implemented strong security measures to mitigate risks and maintain the highest standards of data protection.

Billing and collecting revenue for behavioral health services is complex, and so are all of the workflows behind it. From pre-admission to post-discharge, Kipu RCM, powered by Avea Solutions, embeds the necessary workflows and payer requirements along each step of the patient journey to ensure claims are submitted and paid as accurately and quickly as possible. We focused on making Kipu RCM even better this year. Here are some of those enhancements:
- 🔏Period Close: This feature facilitates more accurate revenue and accounts receivable reporting by preventing financial transactions from being posted to past periods.
- 📎 Claim Attachments: You can now attach required documentation to electronic claims for payers who accept electronic claim attachments. When the claim is submitted, the attached document(s) will be sent to the payer immediately. Attachments can be added to new or resubmitted claims.
- 🗂️New Patients Layout: Access your Patients list in one accessible and searchable view. Create patient profiles quickly using our new Create Patient wizard. Manage both prospective and admitted treatment episodes under a single patient profile for a complete view of their treatment history.
- 🕒 Pre-Admission U/R: Stay ahead by creating and managing utilization review for a patient’s prospective episode that will soon admit.
- 💊Billing with NDC Codes: Users can set a National Drug Code (NDC), Unit Measurement, and Unit Count to service billing profiles when billing for medication.
- ⏱️Auto-Fill Payment Lines: Save time on manual payment posting by using our new Auto-Fill button. When clicked, Avea will take each column’s Payment Total and average the dollar amount across all line item rows. Users only need to make adjustments to payment lines when needed!
- 📊Custom Patient Billable Adjustment Reasons: Enhance patient billable adjustment reporting (and accounting!) by customizing adjustment reasons with short codes.
